Annual Clues & Evidence Art Show

Oct 1-28 | Tues-Sat 12-4pm

1435 Myers St., Oroville

Free | $5 entry fee for Mystery Writing

Presented by Artists of River Town

Artists of River Town presents its annual juried art show, Clues & Evidence, themed for Perry Mason Days. To further the mystery, a writing component has been added to the 2011 show. Visit the Gallery, pick your clues, write a story to solve your mystery.  Submit your story (with $5 entry) by Oct 18. Awards for the most compelling artwork and story will be awarded at the closing reception on Oct 28 from 5-7 p.m. There will also be a special first Friday opening Oct 7 from 5-7 p.m.

Evidence can come from anywhere, a footprint in the sand, a wine glass, a furtive look. So sharpen up your investigative skills and join us for a crime scene investigation sensation.

Description

Artists of River Town, while still a young organization, has developed into a group which has excellent recognition and credibility within this community. The membership is closing in on 80 members at this time and is one of the busiest groups in Oroville. While no one is required to participate in every activity, the choices are wide ranging and an artist can be busy or not--their choice.

Fun is an invaluable benefit of membership in Artists of River Town. Face to face, by newsletter, phone, group or one-to-one, email or activity versus simply sitting and staring at the surrounding beauty, painting together, plein aire or in the garage or studio, hands in the clay, squeezing tubes of pain onto a pallet or canvas, tree branches becoming another shape for self expression...It's all art, from the first color crayon to the last work, it's a fantastic way to live.
