Description
A conversation with Dolores Mitchell, Maria Phillips and other guild members about the centuries old guild system. A professional economic unit offers a model for cultural survival right here and now. Avenue 9 Gallery & Art Guild’s new Coat of Arms and Colors will be unveiled after the talk.

Description
Avenue 9 Gallery opened with an exhibition "Openings" January 16, 2004. In April 2009, the gallery was transformed into a professional artist guild whose members are excited about exhibiting their art, learning from each other, sharing their knowledge, and solidifying their artistic presence in the community. Major decisions regarding direction, focus, membership, exhibition and event calendar are made collectively. All artists maintain a consistent presence in the gallery and have the opportunity periodically to be featured artist. As a professional organization, the gallery also does community outreach and mounts special exhibitions and group shows and sometimes engages in collaborative programs with other galleries and/or with advanced students at both Chico State University and Butte College.
