Anthony Platt, professor emeritus at California State University, Sacramento, presents his new book, Grave Matters: Excavating California’s Buried Past. Platt examines the origins and consequences of California’s trade in grave goods, exploring why for more than two centuries the looting of native graves was considered good science and a gentleman’s hobby.
