592 E. 3rd St., Chico
Children’s $5 | Evening $8
Presented by Gordy Ohliger
A neighborly visit into the life of John Bidwell, member of the first wagon train to the West in 1839. In his cherry orchard, he built one of the first settlements of the new state, soon to be called Chico. A friendly evening with Gordy Ohliger, the Musical Mark Twain, performing period songs and local lore of Northern California; 1820 to 1918. Originally commissioned by the J. Paul Getty Museum, and performed as "A Heritage you can Hear.”
This year’s performance will feature two shows:
A Completely Silly Children's Show at 4 p.m. Admission: $5
A totally interactive stomping, clapping, rousing rowdy Kids Show.
Good for Grand-pa's and others with a sense of humor.
General Audience Evening Show at 7:30 p.m. Admission: $8
More quirky stories and sweet music.
A fun informative evening of funky minstrel music,
pioneer songs, risky ragtime, one weepy melody,
hot jazz, and novelty vaudeville...
all on rare vintage instruments.
Each show is followed by Q&A at the antique banjo display.
Tickets available at the door, and The Music Connection in Chico.
