“She’s the best singer of her generation.” – Tony Bennett
It seems inevitable that k.d. lang – a Patsy Cline devotee – would record Sing It Loud, a Nashville produced blend of tasteful country pluck and twang. Lang’s fall tour emphasizes this new album, and with the band The Siss Boom Bang, Lang ruminates on romantic regret in the Roy Orbison-esque “I Confess,” hits some vocal highs in “Sugar Buzz,” and makes Talking Heads’ “Heaven” sound even more, well… heavenly.
