Millions know the legend of America’s first flag, but the life of the flag’s creator, Betsy Ross, remains shrouded in romance and nostalgia. Based on her prize-winning biography, Betsy Ross and the Making of America, Marla R. Miller discusses her recovery of the true revolutionary experiences of this Philadelphia craftswoman.
