In my paintings, I have tried to explore the conflict between the beauty and utility of the local agricultural landscape. I also try to express the emotion and mood of the landscape or how my personal memories effect my perception of the landscape.

A series of moths and cicadas are a memorial to my friends who have suffered with AIDS and HIV. The two insects represents the forgotten and hidden beauty of the souls that have passed on and are represented in subtle colors and tones.
