The Latest Publishing News
The publishing world as we know it is almost dead. Things have changed. If you want to write and get traditionally published, you can’t afford to be in the dark. Welcome to the age of eBooks and digital publishing. In the first part of this workshop you will get an overall look at the evolving publishing industry and learn what you can expect when your story or book is ready to be published. You’ll update your understanding of today’s readers and how the process of getting your work out there has changed.
Practice your Pitch. First Ever in Chico!
Receive valuable pitch coaching from the experts. This part of the workshop will be set up in the popular “Speed Dating with the Agent” style. You’ll have less than three minutes to pitch your book. Afterwards industry professionals will let you know how you did and what you can do to improve. First impressions are very important. In this part of the workshop, you’ll learn what works and what doesn’t.
Be Prepared. Get a professional critique of your manuscript before you send it to an agent or publisher.
Nora Profit will be conducting mini manuscript reviews at no charge after the workshop by appointment only. We ask that you send no more than 5 to 15 pages to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by Monday, October 11th. We’ll call and set up an appointment as soon as we receive your project.
