Welcome to the online home of the Butte Humane Society ! We are one of the oldest charitable non-profit agencies in Butte County, California, working since 1911 to bring humanitarian care to dogs, cats and other animals entering our shelter. We are an Open Admissions Shelter for the City of Chico. This means we accept every animal that is brought to our facility from within the city of Chico, regardless of age, health, behavior or special needs.
