THEATRE ON THE INSIDE-OUT began in 1990. It was originally developed to provide local teens the opportunity to write & perform powerful stories & original scripts for the purpose of prevention, education & outreach to schools and community. It was meant as a creative and effective way to get teens talking with teens, while blending the best of realism and art.

Our mission is to help create greater awareness and dialogue solutions toward decreased violence, teen suicide, substance abuse & many other issues in our schools & neighborhoods. Since 1990, our troupe has performed at junior & high schools in Chico, Paradise, Red Bluff, Redding & Willows. We have performed at several professional workshops, Friday Night Live events in Chico & Sacramento, and other venues. With our new facility located inside the Chico Cabaret, we have expanded our programs to Include traditional children’s theatre, musicals, and comedies for young children and teens. The theatre also provides workshops, drama therapy groups, and will continue to develop original works by local teens. A Theatre On The Inside-Out is part of Community Collaborative for Youth, a newly formed non-profit (501 C3) organization.
