Created a year ago by five local Chico women, Chikoko is a unique business offering entertainment, fashion and textile art. All members have previously been participants in performance art and in turn have developed specific textile and artistic talents. Combining their experience and passion, they created Chikoko.

In February 2006 they presented ,“Unmentionables,“ a sold out, standing room only lingerie fashion show at the Chico Women’s Club, establishing their reputation as a premier entertainment company offering coveted fashion designs. Their latest production in May 2006 was an American Cancer Society Benefit Fashion Show at the Maltese, raising more than a thousand dollars.

Chikoko has been a participant in many community events. In December 2005 they hosted a Chikoko Boutique at the “Via De Modo,” Crux Fashion Show. They boothed at the third annual off the lawn Hipster Craft show in December 2005. In Fall 2005 Chikoko entered and won first and runner up prizes in the Book Family Farm Scarecrow Contest 2005 and the Colors 92.7 Halloween Costume Contest. Chikoko events always donate ten percent to community non-profits. Recipients have been The Chico Arts Center, Rape Crisis Intervention the Chico Women’s Club, and the American Cancer Society.
