Kim enjoys texture in her art and searches yard sales and thrift stores for unique tesserae to mosaic with. Some favorite tesserae includes stained glass, dishes, buttons, ceramic figurines, jewelry, and toys. Part of the fun of the art is finding things not commonly thought of as materials to make art with, and putting them into a mosaic piece to create something new! Kim enjoys taking functional pieces found at thrift stores, such as picture frames or clock bodies and putting mosaic art on them.

She also enjoys making art for art's sake as well. Kim sells her pieces locally in a downtown store. Kim will be participating in the Open Studios Tour this year, as well as having a booth at the Taste of Chico this September.
